Aftermarket replacement for EagleBurgmann BT-AR | AESSEAL B01 | Vulcan 18
The Luwint M301 is a compact elastomer bellows mechanical seal for pump maintenance and replacement applications. Its short rotary assembly combines a sealing face, flexible bellows and spring, with a separate stationary seat.
The range includes several dimensional versions at selected shaft sizes. Matching the rotary diameter, working length and stationary-seat dimensions is essential when replacing an existing seal, particularly in pumps with limited installation space.

Compact axial profile: provides a selection option for pumps with shallow seal chambers.
Elastomer bellows construction: combines shaft sealing with flexibility within the rotary assembly.
Spring-loaded sealing face: maintains axial contact between the rotary face and stationary seat.
Multiple dimensional versions: helps match different pump housings at the same nominal shaft diameter.
Face and elastomer options: allows materials to be selected for the liquid and operating conditions.
Do not select an M301 by shaft diameter alone. The catalogue includes suffixes such as S, M and L at certain sizes, identifying different dimensional configurations.
For example, the following versions all fit a nominal 20 mm shaft:
| Catalogue version | Rotary diameter D1 | Seat dimension D2 | Rotary length L1 | Seat length L2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20S | 35 mm | 38 mm | 13 mm | 8 mm |
| 20M | 39 mm | 42 mm | 13 mm | 8 mm |
| 20L | 42 mm | 45 mm | 13 mm | 10 mm |
The suffix does not necessarily indicate a change in rotary working length. Check all dimensions against the existing seal and housing.
L1 describes the rotary portion and excludes the stationary seat. Confirm the complete installed arrangement, including the seat recess and available spring compression, using the dimensional drawing.
| Parameter | Luwint catalogue range or limit |
|---|---|
| Shaft sizes listed | 6–70 mm, in selected metric sizes and configurations |
| Pressure | Up to 6 bar |
| Sliding speed | Up to 12 m/s |
| Temperature | −30°C to +200°C |
Actual limits depend on seal size, face materials, elastomer, liquid and duty. Maximum pressure, speed and temperature should not be assumed to apply simultaneously. Confirm the proposed material combination for the operating conditions.
| Manufacturer | Corresponding seal family |

| Vulcan | 18 |
These references provide a starting point for identification. Working lengths, rotary diameters and stationary-seat arrangements can vary within each family. Confirm the complete dimensional and material match before ordering.
With suitable materials and a verified fit, M301 can be selected for:
Small centrifugal water pumps
Domestic and commercial water-transfer equipment
Building-services circulation pumps
Agricultural and irrigation pumping
General utility duties involving compatible liquids
Selection should account for fluid chemistry, temperature, solids content and seal-chamber pressure.
The Luwint catalogue lists:
Seal faces and stationary seats: Carbon, Ceramic, Silicon Carbide (SiC), Sintered Silicon Carbide (SSiC) and Tungsten Carbide (TC).
Elastomers: Nitrile (NBR), EPDM and Viton (FKM).
Contact Luwint to confirm the available face pairing and elastomer for the required size and configuration. Material choice should suit the liquid, temperature and expected wear conditions.

For help identifying a replacement, send the pump make and model, shaft diameter, clear photos of the old seal, rotary outside diameter, working length and stationary-seat dimensions. Include any size suffix or markings, together with the liquid, operating temperature and pressure.
